Owen Pach
Owen Pach is one of the nation's leading hot glass artists, with a resume that reads like a who's who in glass and permanent collections on display throughout the country.
A native of Tampa, Owen has lived in different parts of Florida, North Carolina, Rhode Island, upstate New York and Pennsylvania while training, working and teaching with such notable glass artists as Richard Ritter and Jan Williams, Harvey Littleton, Paul Stankard, Mark Pieser, Stephan Dee Edwards, Leon Applebaum, John littleton and Kate Vogal, and Herb Babcock among many others.
Owen's most recent contribution to the glass community was East Falls Glassworks in Philadelphia, where he built the entire studio from the ground up, including every piece of equipment. He then ran and developed the business into the premier public access glass studio in the region.
Recently while in Florida, Owen finalized the dates for his solo exhibition at Gulf Coast Museum, finalized the dates for a solo 6 month installation in the main concourse at Tampa International Airport, received a five year commission to produce awards for Gulf Coast Museum and will begin a teaching program in October, sponsored by The Arts Center in St. Pete, At Susan Gotts studio in Tampa.
Owen's work has won numerous top prizes at the best art shows around the country, including back-to-back best of shows at the Piccolo Spoletto Festival in Charleston, S.C., the top sculpture prize at Virginia Beach and the top glass prize at St. Louis.
Owen's work can be seen in the permanent collections of Gulf Coast Museum, Deland museum, Asheville Museum, City of Charleston ( 2 pieces ), Virginia Tech ( 2 pieces ), City of Orlando, Smith Barney, Bell South and AAMCO Oil to name but a few.
